New electric showers supplied and installed by a plumber-and-electrician team, sized to your mains pressure and consumer unit capacity, RCD-protected, cable-upgraded where needed, and certified end-to-end.
Free spec check · Correct kW for your mains · Electrical certificate on completion
Every underperforming electric shower in the country is under-specced. Right shower, right cable, right RCD, hot water for a decade.
Every electric shower failure in SE London is one of a small list of avoidable mistakes.
A 7.5kW unit on a mains-fed system in a cold Woolwich winter delivers a lukewarm trickle. Not the shower's fault, wrong spec for the property.
Fitting a 10.5kW shower on the original 6mm cable overheats the run and eventually burns out the cable or the RCD.
Modern showers cut out on thermal or flow protection when installed wrong, every time, and expensively.
An electric shower without a 30mA RCD on the circuit is a lethal shock risk and a Part P non-compliance.
Common mistakes we fix
Cold mains flow tested, consumer unit capacity checked, cable run inspected, RCD protection verified.
We recommend a shower model and kW rating that will actually perform on your mains and circuit.
Cold feed run and isolated, appliance mounted per manufacturer template, cable upgrade fitted if required, RCD confirmed.
Flow, temperature and thermal cut-out tested. Isolator switch pull-cord fitted and confirmed operational.
Electrical certificate (Part P notifiable where cable or circuit changed).
Right-sized shower on right-sized cable delivers the full flow at the temperature you set.
Boiler service? Boiler broken? You still have a hot shower.
Only heats water at point-of-use, no losses down insulated pipe runs.
RCD-protected, correctly-cabled, isolator fitted: Part P compliant.
Most replacements complete in half a day.
Correctly-installed showers routinely deliver 10+ years of reliable service.
Electric shower selection is a three-way calculation, plumbing, electrics, mains supply.
We measure static and dynamic mains flow at the intended supply point. 8 l/min minimum for a 9.5kW shower to run properly; 10 l/min plus for a 10.5kW. If flow is marginal, we spec a lower kW and better manage expectations.
6mm cable on a dedicated 40A MCB for 8.5–9.5kW showers, 10mm cable and 50A MCB for 10.5kW+ showers. RCD protection at 30mA mandatory in wet zones under BS 7671.
Older SE London properties often have consumer units without spare capacity. We assess and upgrade with a compliant new RCBO or consumer unit where required, in coordination with our registered electrician.
Mira Sport, Mira Advance, Triton T90SR and T80, Aqualisa Quartz Electric, Bristan Bliss and Glee. Each has specific plumbing and electrical requirements; we stock the correct spares.
A ceiling-mounted double-pole isolator with pull-cord is fitted within reach on every install, regulatory requirement, and a safety feature worth its £45.
For rentals we spec robust mid-range showers with good parts availability and easy fascia replacement, minimising callback cost over the shower's lifetime.
£220–£320 for a like-for-like replacement including a mid-range shower unit. £380–£550 where cable or consumer unit upgrade is required. Fixed quote after site survey.
Depends on your cold mains flow and existing circuit. In most SE London homes 9.5kW is the sweet spot; 8.5kW where flow is marginal; 10.5kW only where mains and cable clearly support it.
3–5 hours for a straightforward replacement. 1 day where cable upgrade is required.
Any new circuit or cable change in a bathroom is Part P notifiable. We handle registration through our registered electrician; you get the certificate.
Mira Advance and Sport are excellent reliability picks; Aqualisa Quartz Electric is quieter and more refined; Triton T90SR is the strongest budget option. Danny will recommend based on your mains and preferences.
Only if it's the correct size for the new shower's kW rating and has RCD protection. We test and confirm during survey.
Below 1 bar and 8 l/min, no shower will feel powerful. In those cases we'll suggest a whole-house pump or a smaller electric shower with realistic flow expectations.
The manufacturer's warranty on the shower itself, registered in your name.
