Heat loss and boiler sizing
We calculate room-by-room heat loss to BS EN 12831 using measured U-values for the property fabric. Total is compared to modulating combi/system boiler output; oversizing costs efficiency and lifespan.
Hot water strategy
Combi for smaller homes with one bathroom and good mains pressure; system boiler with a G3-installed unvented cylinder for family homes with multiple bathrooms; heat-only where a conventional loft-tank arrangement is preferred.
Pipework layout
22mm mains loops around the ground floor, 15mm to radiators, correct return arrangement to avoid short-circuit flow, drain-off cocks at every low point. Concealed runs where possible and correct clipping to avoid pipe noise.
Radiator selection
Sized to each room's heat loss at 50°C flow temperature to future-proof for heat pump compatibility. Correct valve pairings (TRV + lockshield) and access for future maintenance.
Controls and Boiler Plus
OpenTherm-compatible programmable thermostat, load or weather compensation on the boiler, TRVs on every rad, S-plan zone valves where appropriate. Optional smart heating via Vaillant vSMART, Hive, Nest or Tado.
Commissioning and records
Full Benchmark commissioning, system balancing to design flow rates, inhibitor dosed to X100, MagnaClean fitted, Gas Safe notification within 30 days, Building Control certificate issued.

How long does it take?+

Do you replace radiators too?+
Yes, sized to the room, valves paired correctly, safely removed and disposed of.
Can I keep my existing radiators?+
